Summary: The Sr Clinical Informatics Educator Specialits is accountable for providing training needs analysis, developing training courses and materials, and delivering training programs to enable BH employees/affiliates to efficiently use enterprise network solutions. Senior Clinical Educators may monitor daily work of other, junior members of the team, assisting with the development and refinement of required skills as directed by the Team Lead.
What You Will Do:
The candidate will demonstrate competency with theory and application of adult learning models to assess learners' needs and appropriately tailor instructional content and methodology.
The effective Educator will assist in identifying training needs and target populations through job analysis. As an internal consultant for training, the Educator will assist entities within Baystate Health to identify training issues and effectively lead a collaborative effort to resolve such issues. Senior Edcuators will mentor and assist in the development of other informatics educators in the areas of needs assessment, instructional design, delivery and personal growth.
The successful candidate will assist in the development of new programs and revision of current training content. Senior educators will develop, deliver and revise highly effective evidence based training materials and programs that integrate adult learning principles and a solid instructional design methodology.
Course development and review will encompass classroom, small-group, one-on-one and on-line courses. Through a highly collaborative process, edcuators will facilitate internal organizational collaboration to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Clinical Informatics Educator will fully leverage the use of available learning and web-based technology to ensure the right solution is delivered to the right learner at the right time in a variety of settings. Senior Educators will deliver pilot classes to test and evaluate curriculum and completes special projects as assigned to further advance departmental objectives.
Clinical Informatics Educator will assist in the development of new programs and revision of current training content. The effective Informatics Educator will assist in identifying areas of improvement related to the development and delivery of course materials. Senior Edcucators assessment will include soliciting feedback from individual learners, clinical departments and senior leadership to identify current and future training needs and objectives; developing detailed plans to meet both.
He/she will share best practices and Instructional Design models with team members as well as clients so they are able to leverage knowledge in maintaining their own programs.
Continually updates training team’s knowledge and skills through interviews, formal and informal education, hands-on work, and review of industry literature and various web sites.
He/she will foster a positive team learning environment by sharing acquired knowledge with other members of the training team in the areas instructional design and delivery. Stays abreast of the training industry (including Adult Learning, Instructional Design and Performance Improvement) in order to provide clients with learning leadership, being aware of most current learning trends and tools available.
Demonstrates ability to independently manage projects such as monitoring process dynamics and progress, recognizing when a project is deviating from schedule or plan and initiating changes to bring it back on course.
Demonstrates knowledge of planning methodologies and relationship management.
Demonstrates ability to formulate and advance strategic recommendations in collaboration with project’s executive leadership. Identifies unrecognized System needs and considers potential consequences.
What You Will Need:
Minimally Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Experience: 5+ years education experience utilizing Instructional Design methodology, development of web based training courseware, and authoring preferred. Project management experience preferred. Clinical experience.
Skills / Competencies:
Consistently recognized as a trusted advisor, who advocates, influences and provides leadership on issues in which there is uncertainty.
Clinical experience preferred. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office required experience with course development tools required (Lectora, FireFly, Camtasia, or similar products). Some experience with Instructional Design methodology preferred.Project management experience a plus.
