Clinical Lab Technician, 2nd shift, Microbiology

Full / Part Time: Full-Time
Location: Springfield, Massachusetts

What You Will Do:

This position requires the individual to perform a variety of duties in both the bacteriology and serology sections of Microbiology.  Duties include, but are not limited to, specimen processing, automated and manual serology testing, automated PCR, gram stains, and bacterial culture work.

The ability to meet productivity standards is required.  Individuals applying for this position must embrace the Pathology Department’s Service Promise by practicing our compassionate behaviors.  Incumbent must have excellent verbal communication skills and phone etiquette.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences required.
  • At least 3 years laboratory experience required.
  • Laboratory skills acquired during clinical rotations and/or through experience required.
  • MLT (ASCP) or equivalent  A.S. MLT: Required to maintain employment . Other laboratory certifications will be considered preferred.

What You Need To Know:

  • Evening shift
  • 8 or 10 hour shift, start time 4:30p, Monday-Friday, Every third weekend, Every third Holiday.  Schedule subject to change per Department needs.
  • This is a Full-Time 40 hour/week Position
