Baystate Health is seeking a Full-time Clinical Research Assistant.

Summary:  The Clinical Research Assistant is an integral member of the growing research team in the Clinical Trial Office.  The clinical research assistant position is multi-faceted with a mix of administrative, medical and patient duties.  The primary responsibility is to assist with the conduct of study activities in accordance with the protocol, in compliance with FDA, federal, state, and local regulations and good clinical practice.  Responsibilities will include working with multiple principal investigators and study teams in a variety of clinical areas.

What you will do:

Demonstrate knowledge and ability to complete study activities for multiple complex clinical trial protocols.

Assist with recruitment and retention of study subjects.

Assist with/or obtain verbal or written consent for study participation from research subjects and legally authorized representatives.

Assist with study visits and procedures under supervision of the PI and senior study staff.

Assist with collection, processing, storage and shipment of research samples.

Assist with data collection and maintenance of a variety of electronic data bases.

Assist with organization and maintenance of study files and documentation.

Perform other duties as delegated and trained.

What you will need:

Preferred Education BS/BA degree

Minimally required experience: HS diploma/AS and 2+ years of clinical research experience or combination of education and relevant experience

Medical terminology required

CPR certification

1 year phlebotomy experience

Skills/Competencies:

Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail

Outstanding organizational skills

Flexible and adaptable to change

Adept at multi-tasking

Exceptional time management and follow through skills

Proficient in Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Excel

Bilingual Spanish highly desired. 

Basic knowledge of FDA, Federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice.

Certification: SoCRA or ACRP required within 1 year of eligibility
