What You Will Do:

  • Utilizes innovative and flexible solutions
  • Evidence-based practice and effective operations
  • Responsible for establishing an environment that transforms professional growth, role competence and proficiency in their specialty
  • Facilitates the achievement of professional/clinical outcomes with all assigned staff and or patient populations
  • Develops, innovation learning approaches for coordination, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of orientation, competency and inservice programs
  • Identifies through needs assessment, continuing education opportunities that augment knowledge, skills, and attitudes of all nursing staff
  • Creates and implements continuing education based on needs assessment
  • Guides and mentors staff in career/professional development, role transition and succession planning
  • Conducts, encourages, disseminates, and/or participates in evidence based practice, research and scholarship, including oral or poster presentations and publications
  • Supports staff nurse evidence-based projects in concert with the Unit Manager, Nursing Research Director and Nursing Resident Manager

What You Will Need:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing required
  • RN License in the state of MA required
  • Five years of experience in the specialty/designated patient population required
  • Leadership capabilities and skills essential
  • Adult learner knowledge and expertise
  • Prior project management, teaching, publication, reseach and professional presentations experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a teaching hospital preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, transform and direct staff
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and skill in clinical specialty
  • Expertise in practice that is patient-focused, family-centered care
  • Inspires, transforms and achieves outcomes in staff learning through formal/informal teaching methods
  •   (including simulation)
  • Demonstrates quality in clinical performance as evidenced by creativity in problem solving, risk taking and
  •  indisciplinary communications
  • Expertise in building high functioning teams and processes that lead to teamwork.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff in assistive roles, professional nurses, physicians, trainees and
  •  colleagues in all areas of the hospital.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes in collaboration with all members of the leadership team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility in work schedule
  • Computer literate
  • Membership in a professional organization

What You Need To Know:

  • Department: Simulation Lab, Baystate Medical Center
  • Hours: Per Diem (up to 20 hours per week, but may vary)
  • Shift: Day time hours (8AM-4PM
