Perform all job assignments as directed by their designated BMC department and agreed upon by their immediate supervisor and the intern at the start of their employment. Attend all required BMC and BSEP orientation and training workshops and related developmental activities. Fulfill any and all other requirements as directed by the high school staff. Adhere to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations. This description covers the essential functions of the position. He/She is expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned. Management has the right to change or add to the job responsibilities at any time.
Education: Springfield Public School student preferred (completed at least 10th grade) and participated in at least one full BSEP program. All qualified candidates must be approved through BSEP.
Baystate Medical Center is a vendor for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). As part of the grant, Baystate, through the Baystate Springfield Educational Partnership (BSEP), will be providing work experience for 11th and 12th graders who meet the WIOA eligibility requirements. The student will be under the management of BSEP and placed with a host department to perform basic task consistent with the abilities of the intern. The most the position will work is approximately 10 hours per week during the academic year and 20 hours per week during the summer with the total numbers of weeks to be determined by the grant budget.
