Under Director of Security Supervisor patrols property leading to exterior of hospital and acts to deter loss of institution, employees, patient and visitors by preventing illegal entry by unauthorized individuals. Monitors surveillance cameras and reports any suspicious activities. Examines doors and windows to ensure they are secure as well as checking and maintaining security of hospital vehicles. Monitors fire and security alarm systems as well as dispatching of calls for assistance. Provides escorts for employees, visitors and patients. Assists in traffic control for fires as well as other emergency situations. Adheres to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Patrols assigned areas of institution & exterior premises on foot or mobile according to established schedule. Reports any unusual occurrences, property damage and thefts.
Conducts rounds to ensure that door and windows are securely locked. Responds to requests to lock and unlocked doors and also secure doors according to specified schedules.
Performs all duties in the command center. Monitors surveillance cameras, fire & Security alarm systems. Dispatches calls for assistance as received.
Responds to codes and other emergencies immediately as directed by supervisor. Operates fire equipment following department procedures.
Control vehicle traffic in and around institution to prevent congestion.
Direct employees, staff, visitors and patients to all areas of the hospital, as requested. Provide assistance to employees, visitors as needed.
Provide escorts as directed by the Security Supervisor. Ensure safe escort to employees & visitors within and leaving institution, as requested.
Handles disruptive situations understanding policy on use of force and restraint protocols. Clear patient floors of visitors as requested by nursing staff.
High School Diploma/GED Required
1 year experience in security field
Valid Driver’s license
Hours/Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/3:30pm-12:00am
