Under general supervision and according to established procedures, performs a variety of routine pulmonary function tests, arranges testing equipment, explains test procedures to patients, operates equipment, monitor patient’s condition during testing, maintains equipment in clean and safe condition, draws and analyzes arterial blood gasses according to policies and procedures. Performs and reports proficiency testing monthly and quarterly for accuracy of test results. Responsible for the care and treatment of all age ranges of patients.
Receives requisitions for procedures, verifies physicians’ orders, set up and calibrates equipment to perform test.
Performs PFT’s according to standards including, but not limited to, spirometry, gas dilution and CLCO.
Inspects and performs quality control on pulmonary equipment and understands theories of operation.
Draws, analyzes and reports blood gas analysis.
Planning and time utilization.
DL License Required
Certified Respiratory Therapist – Certification Required
Registered Respiratory Therapist – Required
CPR – Required
ACLS – Preferred
Hours/Schedule: Full-time 40 hours - 7:00am-5:00pm
